Just as they’re leaving the lockers, Violet spots Celly Smart strategically positioned behind the rubbish bin.
“Hey!! You’d better not be filming us, Goodman,” she hisses.
Leon spins around, fists clenched, and begins walking toward Jacob.
“Pardon? Ummm, no! I would never do that!” cries Jacob fearfully. He has no idea what Violet is talking about.
Leon lurches toward Celly Smart, but before he reaches her, she grabs Mini’s hand and speeds toward the large front doors leading outside.
“What the …?” says Terry, unable to comprehend what he has just witnessed. Beside him on the ground are Remotely and Paddy Apps, sprinting past his size 12 shoes. They have just launched themselves off the lockers and are making a beeline for the door.
“To the wagon!” yells Remotely. “Celly, get Lapdog here now!!”
Terry, Leon, and Violet swiftly give chase but are dumbfounded that they are actually pursuing a bunch of devices. ‘They must be controlled by someone,’ the thought quickly crosses Violet’s mind. However, as strange as it seems, they also know full well that they’ve been caught red-handed shaking down a freshman, and it’s crucial that they delete the footage.
“Get them!!!” shouts Terry, as he pants and struggles to keep up.
Now that his persecutors have left, Jacob is able to breathe again. For a while, he just sits on the floor, stunned, and wonders what on earth has just happened.
