The Great Goog’s deep voice begins. “Heroes, I have called you here because I need your urgent help.” He pauses for just a moment then continues.
“Lapdog informs me that Jacob has become the target of a bully. He was drafting an email to his teacher appealing for help but changed his mind and deleted it. It appears this tyrant has been harassing him by the lockers every other morning.”
“Ah,” Celly Smart ponders, “that explains the dude’s moodiness lately. He’s been snapping at everyone. And now his internet access is restricted to one hour per night!”
“Do we know why the bully is picking on him?” ventures Paddy Apps.
“Bullies don’t need a reason,” replies the Goog, “they just need a victim, and an excuse. Tomorrow, I need you to go to Jacob’s school. Find out who this ruffian is and compile evidence of their bullying. Once you have it, bring it to me and we’ll make sure it gets into the right hands. But tonight, rest and recharge. You’ll need all your energy tomorrow as this surveillance could take some hours.”

The Goog switches himself back to sleep mode, and softly the Heroes creep back to their respective charge cradles. Lapdog is relieved. Jacob has been secretly playing online all weekend with his neighbour’s unsecured WiFi. His power is now down to 12 percent.
The following morning, the Heroes suit up and gather in the kitchen to discuss their plan for the day. The house is quiet. Rusty has departed in his recycling truck to start his rounds at the Air Force base. Janice has taken Mikey to daycare at the university where she works as a lab assistant. And Becky and Jacob have left to catch the school bus.
“Where’s Remotely?” asks Paddy Apps.
“He was climbing onto Rusty’s armchair when I saw him last,” replies Celly Smart, who sneaked out of Becky’s bag just before she headed off to school.
Suddenly, muffled cries erupt from the laundry. Mikey has hidden Remotely in the laundry basket, yet again! Ah, little Mikey. He’s so jealous. He believes his Dad spends more time with the remote control than him.
