His mum is relieved and yet surprised at his sudden change in attitude. She has been so worried about her son lately. She ventures to ask, “So how was your day, you sound pleased with yourself Jake?”
“Umm … usual stuff, nothing to report,” Jacob replies.
Janice seems puzzled.
“Don’t worry, Mum, he’s just strange,” interjects Becky. But Jacob grins to himself as he thinks about the events of the day.
And so, with a contented smile and a feeling of peace he hasn’t experienced in a while, Jacob boots up his laptop, logs in and finishes the level he’s been stuck on for days, with ease.
Then soon afterwards, he dusts off his skateboard, launches himself down the driveway and heads for the skate park, skating confidently and with purpose. He’s determined to never let his power be taken by anyone, ever again. He has made up his mind. He will forever … Wax Valiant!!
